Optical Table-top and Vibration Systems

Avanya Enterprise manufactures a wide range of solid breadboards, honeycomb breadboards, workstations, and optical tables. Tables and breadboards with rigid, passive, or active vibration damping options are available along with several damping techniques, skin thicknesses, and materials.

The components of the breadboard are designed to work together, allowing posts or rails to interface with the work surface. Additional components can be assembled or disassembled for repeated use across different applications and configurations.

Extreme Light Weight Optical Table (Magnetic)

30 mm thickness with 3 mm magnetic SS410 top skin.
2 mm epoxy-coated aluminium bottom skin.
Aluminium honeycomb core with M6 tapped holes at 25 mm grid.
Approx. +/- 0.1 mm flatness over 300 mm x 300 mm area.

Extreme Light Weight Optical Table (Non-Magnetic)

30 mm thickness with 3 mm non-magnetic SS304 top skin.
2 mm epoxy-coated aluminium bottom skin.
Aluminium honeycomb core with semi-solid epoxy bonding.

Light Weight Optical Table (Magnetic)

60 mm thickness with magnetic SS410 top skin.
Aluminium honeycomb core and M6 tapped holes at 25 mm grid.
Compressed wooden particle side walls to damp acoustic vibrations.

Standard Optical Table (Magnetic)

4 mm magnetic SS410 top skin and 4 mm epoxy-coated steel bottom skin.
0.25 mm aluminium honeycomb core.
25 mm grid tapped holes and matte-finish side walls.

Standard Optical Table (Non-Magnetic)

4 mm non-magnetic SS304 top skin.
4 mm epoxy-coated non-magnetic steel bottom skin.

Active Vibration Isolation Support

Active vibration isolation support is designed for demanding optical table installations where low resonant frequency and load handling are important.

Vertical resonant frequency: 1.25 Hz.
Horizontal resonant frequency: 1.0 Hz.
Vertical transmissibility at resonance: 10 dB.
Horizontal transmissibility at resonance: 12 dB.
Vertical transmissibility at 5 Hz: -20 dB (90%).
Maximum load capacity for set of four: 600 - 800 kg.
Height adjustment range: -25 mm to +25 mm.
Self-levelling repeatability: +/- 0.5 mm.
Height: 700 mm; maximum air pressure: 80 psi.

Passive Vibration Isolation Support

In PVIS series passive vibration isolation systems, isolated legs are interconnected by pneumatic tubes for air filling. Air is filled through the inlet valve and uniformly distributed to all isolator legs.

Recommended air pressure: 25-35 PSI.
Air filter supports moisture-free air supply.
Air should be filled at least once a month.
Vertical and horizontal natural frequencies: 4 - 8 Hz.
Designed to isolate vibrations in the critical 10 - 50 Hz range.

Rigid, Non-Isolating Support Frames

These all-steel frames provide a cost-effective solution for supporting optical breadboards in laboratory or production environments where vibration isolation is not critical.

Sturdy all-steel construction.
800 mm frame height.
Load capacity: 700 kg.
Levelling pad and levelling feet adjustment range: +/- 25 mm.
Can be upgraded to active isolation using AVIS supports.

Overhead Shelves, Optical Enclosures, and Blackout Curtain Systems

Avanya Enterprise offers optical table shelves for organized, ergonomic lab space. Free-standing overhead shelves can mount vibration-producing equipment above the optical breadboard and can be adjusted or positioned along the rail.

Optical enclosures feature black hardboard or acrylic panels with sliding door assemblies. Blackout curtain systems provide modular, customizable assemblies that can be mounted to the floor, ceiling, or wall for lab light control.
